WA’s inaction on climate is putting Australia’s emission reduction commitments at risk.
WA is the only state without a 2030 target and last night the ABC’s 7.30 showed why. It revealed that WA’s own modelling would see emissions stay high for the decade ahead, undermining national targets and requiring other state to do more of the heavy lifting to reduce emissions.
In other words, the richest state is the laziest state when it comes to getting its carbon emissions down.
