Collie, Coal and the Transition. ABC 7.30 Report

I’m on @abc730 talking about WA’s belated energy transition. Here’s some of what I have to say:

“Western Australia’s emissions are some of the highest in the country, certainly on a per capita basis, and they are still going up. So we’ve got a long way to go.”

“Getting rid of coal is a good logical first step … the big danger here is that Western Australia fills a big chunk of that power with gas, which is still carbon-intensive.
